right…. it is true. I’m not gonna believe on those on what I see on TV. We had our DR duty today. On the first hours, there’s an orientation of the staff and our CI preceptor. Then by 11, we started the procedures. We have these cases: 2 NSDs, 1 CS, and D&C… wait… Here’s a better way to understand it: NSD is normal spontaneous delivery, CS is caesarean section, and D&C is dilation and curettage.
The latter is like you are going to scrape off the fragments found inside the wound to prevent infection and so. Time flies so fast during our duty. Most of my work are monitoring vital signs (BP taking specifically), assisting in cleaning OR/DR instruments, pushing the stretcher, and others… can’t count them all in my fingers
It was really a busy day for us, but the most part that I love is that I got to insert an IV needle on a patient (with a helping hand assistance of our CI). I was very nervous at first… natatakot baka mapuncture ko ang vein… but our CI encouraged me and I did it well… maybe
o_o… but I’ll promise I’ll get an IV seminar once I graduated…
So far, I loved this day’s duty. So many things happened. Learned many too. Can’t make this post longer ‘coz my eyes are starting to droop while listening to music.
